August 2009 DVLA Auction Results
DVLA Number Plates sold in the August 2009 DVLA Auction at the F1 Williams venue demonstrated the continuing improvement in the number of lots sold and in the average value realised across the range of numbers.
The series of 1 O, 2 O, 3 O continued with the auction of the number 4 O at this auction realising a hammer value of £51,000 with the purchaser declaring this to be purely an investment based purchase for the future.
It has been widely reported how the recent trend in the purchasing of exclusive registrations has been investment driven rather than enthusiast driven and this trend continues as exclusive registration marks continue to be seen as a safe investment for the future in uncertain times.
In addition there were two interesting purchases made by people from the North West of England with 1 PNE and ST08 ART having connections to this area of the country.
1 PNE was purchased because of its association with Preston North End FC and the purchaser is known to be linked with the football club whilst ST08 ART was purchased by a company director of STOBART Haulage Ltd the freight company based in Cumbria.
